Rankin Run 2012

The Rankin Run is a 1K/5K walk/run that takes place in St. Catharines. Beacon once again had a team take part in the very important community event.

The Beacon Christian School Team had 85 participants!
There was over 10,000 people in total that registered for the run in all.

Team Beacon raised $5,453.00 (4th place for schools) towards to GRAND TOTAL of $720,000.00!!

The Rankin Cancer Run is clearly focused on funding immediate cancer care,
and all funds stay in Niagara.

We joined together to raise funds while we all honor, remember, and continue to be inspired by those touched by cancer.

We walked or ran, 1km or 5km. It will be a life memory. Together, we are making a difference!

Beacon won some prizes for being one of the top fundraising schools!

More importantly, it was a day well spent letting our light shine in our community.

Girls' Baseball 2012

The Senior Girls' Baseball team also had their tournament last
Wednesday with the Niagara area Christian Schools.

The weather was perfect for a day at the ball diamond!

The girls have been practicing hard with their
coaches Mrs. Kroeker and Mrs. Campbell.

Strategy was taught and disussed...

The girls enjoyed team comaraderie.

There was some time to soak up the sun.

Many great pitching, fielding and batting plays led to...

some great victories!
This led eventually to....

...the girls winning the championship! How exciting!
Congratulations on a job well done, girls!

(Thanks to Mrs. Darlene Teeuwsen for the photos!)

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

The Niagara area of Christian Schools hosted the annual senior boys baseball tournment on Thursday.

They were blessed with beautiful, dry weather!

The boys have been practicing hard with their coaches Mr. Ron Vahrmeyer and Mr. VandenBurg.

They had some great hits, catches, plays and games!

It's also nice to meet and play with boys from neighbouring Christian communities.
Many of these boys may go on to play sports together in high school!

Congratulations on your third place finish, boys!
