Creation Enjoying

Today we had our last chapel on the throughline Creation Enjoying.
We gathered in our cross-graded GIFT groups (Growing In Faith Together).

It is always neat to see students of all ages working together!

We were given the task to find pictures of creation enjoying. Students looked for things that they do and would like to enjoy out in God's world.

Each GIFT group made a collage of the pictures that they found. There were a lot of things we love to do and more we'd love to try some day!

We then gathered together as a student body to worship with word and song.

God has made so many amazing and wonderful things and He wants us
to enjoy what He has made.

How much He must love us!

Creation Enjoying

This month our throughline is Creation Enjoying.

Professor Avery Squinch paid us another personal visit. The students were happy to see him in person again!
He helped us to see where and how we are enjoying creation around us.

Part 2

Our Grade 8 students reminded us to be CE and not CC.
Which one are you?

Fine Arts Festival

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise
to the rock of our salvation!
Psalm 95:1

On Wednesday, students from Niagara area Christian Schools gathered to celebrate the gift of music. It was wonderful to celebrate together!

"Daniel"
Our junior grades sang two songs in a choir together.

"Unto Us"

Our senior band also did a wonderful job with the 2 selections they had:

There were many solos, duets, round and recorder. It was wonderful to fellowship with others from our broader Christian family.

What a wonderful way to create beauty and enjoy God's creation of music!

Creation Discovering

Our throughline for February is Creation Discovering.

What is Creation Discovering?
When we celebrate and discover God’s beautiful creation!

Our chapel began with The Astronauts Creed (A responsive reading of Psalm 19)

We can celebrate the gift of having eyes to see, ears to hear, and hands to touch and create.

We reflected on the poem written by James Weldon Johnson entitled The Creation.
(a youtube version of the poem is below)

What a delight it is to be curious about God’s world, to celebrate God’s incredible creation, and to develop the confidence to look at our environment with the joy of critical awareness.
Share with us this month as we focus on Creation Discovering. Our students would love to hear comments from you  in our comment section on where you discover the taste, smell, sounds, touch and sight of beauty in creation!

Beauty Creating

Last Wednesday was our fourth weekly chapel on Beauty Creating.

God's fingerprints are everywhere. That was the theme of this week's chapel.
Beauty is around us in God's creation.

Our JK and SK class led us in singing "Hip Hip Hooray"

Our grade two students created beauty through music.

Our Grade One students dismissed us with the blessing to "Go Now in Peace".

We then met with our GIFT groups (Growing In Faith Together).
These are groups made up of Grade 1-8 students.

Each student was given a heart and was asked to put 2 or 3 fingerprints on it.

Each student then put the heart in the hallway
under the title "God's Fingerprints are Everywhere!"

 As Gordon Spykman says,
"God's creation is evidence of the caring hand of the Creator reaching out...

...to secure the well-being of His creatures,
of a Father extending a universe full of blessings to His children."

Inventioneering 2013

The exciting “Rubber Band Rally” was held on Jan. 23 with 26 entries.

It was great to see the students’ inventions as they developed
their creative thinking skills,

their God-given talents,

 and had FUN!

The students in grades 3-8 were invited to become inventioneers
and take up the challenge of constructing a rubber-band powered
vehicle capable of traveling great distances in a straight line.

It was so interesting to see all the creative inventions!

Congratulations to Alaynah whose vehicle traveled the longest
distance of 14.77 m!
