This month we are looking at God Worshipping. This has been summarized by the Prairie Centre for Christian Education based in Alberta and adopted by our staff and students:
We desire for our students to understand that worshipping God is about celebrating who God is, what God has done and is doing, and what God has created. It is literally about standing in awe and wonder of knowledge of him and his promises. We want our students see this worship as a way of life!
Together, in school community, we join in worship of our God.
This morning, our Grade Two students opened chapel with the French song, "Vivante"
(Alive, Alive)
We spend some time celebrating student participation in various extra curricular areas of student life. Students who participated in the summer reading program, soccer, cross country, Applefest and the golf tournament were recognized.
We also love to worship God by singing at our chapels! Actions add to our worship sometimes.
We are learning a new song this month called "Learning to Be the Light"
Every Wednesday, we meet together in chapel to worship.
Today, we opened worship with our Grade Two orffestra:
Then we welcomed Pastor Gianpaul. He talked to us about prayer. This month we are seeing how God hears and answers prayer.
He shared from Matthew 7:7: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Sometimes we can be concerned about making sure we pray the "proper" way.
We worry about the words we say or the way we say it and therefore we don't pray at all because of our worries.
Our conversation can become mixed up if we worry too much about what we say and how we say it.
We saw the message get mixed.
But the Bible tells us that God wants to hear what is on our hearts and he isn't concerned with having perfect prayer language.
Past or GP also reminded us that when we pray we need to trust God completely. Not halfway. Not until things get scary, but fully and completely in all circumstances.
