God Has a Plan for Your Life

This week our chapel focused on the biblical truth God has a plan for your life.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"

God knows us by name before we are even born. He has a plan and a purpose for each one of us!
Sometimes, we may not know what that plan is. But we can be reassured that there is a plan.
We watched a story of  Nick Vujicic:

We then welcomed our guest speaker. Anje Wynands is a competitive power lifter and she is
the strongest woman in Canada!
She shared the story of God's plan in her life. During her first 30 years, she struggled with the messages that her classmates and others around her gave her about her size and she defined her personal value
and worth on what others said about her and to her.
She wanted to be more like others around her instead of who she was.

It wasn't until many years later that she came to realize that God created her the way she was for His purpose. Her strength came from her size and her strength could be used to help others and to talk to others about God. She has used the opportunities she has been given because of her great strength to share her faith and how God is working in her life. She encouraged our students to know that God has a plan for them and that he will reveal his plan.

Genesis 50:20 is an important verse for her: "You intended to harm me,
but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."

It was wonderful to hear Anje's amazing and inspiring story and then to think about how God is also working out his plan in our own lives.

Grade 3 also led us in worship with their recorders:

The Bible Tells Me So

This morning we met for chapel.
Our theme this year is The Bible Tells Me So

We were reminded of some of these Bible truths that we've learned so far this year:

We are God's masterpieces
God is always with us
God is always protecting us
 God gives perfect peace
We can do all things through Christ.

We also reflected on the order discovering that was found during our celebration of learning.
God's fingerprints are all over creation!

Order Discovering

Today in chapel, we looked at the throughline Order Discovering.

Some of our Grades 1-4 students led us in sign for Cornerstone.

God is the God of order. In 1Corinthians14:40
Paul says that "All things be done decently and in order".
God has placed order all through his creation! We see it in the passage of time (clocks, earth rotation, calendars, seasons), in language (poetry, spelling patterns). The order in creation is boundless (insects, fruit, flowers, and on it goes). We also see his divine order in the Bible.
We love to marvel with our students about God and his order!

Today in our GIFT groups, we also found order in some things in the form of puzzles.

When we were finished each puzzle, we were given a letter.

Our letters, when ordered properly, reminded us that God is the God of order over all:
