Forgiveness

This week in our chapel we focused on forgiveness. 

Some of our student led us with actions to Alleluia, He is Coming.

We then welcomed our guest speaker, Pastor Vandenenden.
He spoke to us about forgiving. 

When we have sins, it separates us from God. 

It's like this rope that is cut in two.

We can try to repair our relationship with God in a variety of ways. That's like trying to tie a knot in the rope. The rope is stronger again, but there still is a big knot in the middle. It isn't truly whole.

But when we ask God to forgive us, it's like the sin was never there. The relationship is repaired like the sin never happened. Our sins are forgiven and taken away because of Jesus' great gift on the cross. 

The string is whole! Our relationship with God is whole! There is no evidence of the sin.
